Istanbul & Turkey Tourism

Istanbul, rich with its culture and history can be a little overwhelming at first with everything it has to offer. It is both exhilarating and exciting, which could be why property in Fethiye has recently become such a trendy market. Sitting on a beautiful Bosporus, Istanbul is filled with chaotic and ancient history. There are many different attractions that will take away a tourist’s breath.
One particular place to visit is the Grand Bazaar. This is the oldest market in the world and it would take a whole day to pursue it. It is easy to get carried away here so its best to plan ahead of time for a trip here.
Another attraction is the Hagia Sofia (Ayasofya) mosque. Constructed as a church in 550 AD, this mosque was converted over 100 years later into a mosque by the Ottomans. Lines can be long at the Hagia Sofia depending on how many people come to visit it on the same day, so plan on that. It is advised that you reserve enough time to tour it.
The Basilica Cistern is a cavernous underground structure that is used as a water reservoir. It was built under Justinian and has a hundred lit up columns that hold the ceiling. Tourists enjoy walking through it while listening to dripping water and classical music.
Another favorite attraction in Istanbul is belly dancing. In fact, it is considered big business in the tourism market. There are various nightclubs in Istanbul that have belly dancing shows for tourists. Although belly dancing is usually enjoyed by tourists, it has also been part of the Istanbul tradition for centuries. Although it has changed through the years, it still holds roots of earlier history and culture.
