Istanbul has a population of 12.8 million and is the fifth largest city proper in the world. Being the cultural, economic, and financial centre of Turkey there is an endless supply of nightlife, venders, culture, and art. The city is sometimes known as “The city of seven hills”, because it is rumored to have originally been built on seven hills, with a glorious mosque situated on the top of the tallest one. It extends both on the Europea and on the Asian sides of the Bosphorus straight, and the only metropolis in the world that is on two continents.
